NORTHWOOD RIDING CLUB INFORMATION SHEET
AFFILIATION: Fully affiliated with the BHS
MEMBERSHIP FEES:Riding Members £25.00 p.a. Social Members £10.00 p.a. Junior Members are admitted from 13 – 17 years of age. There is a joining fee of £5.00, payable for the first year only.
Please note:HAT TAGGING:all members will require 2017 hat tagged in the new orange tags before competeting in any BRC qualifiers or championships.Use BRC 2017 rule book for reference. Body protectors from 1st Jan 2018 must be body protector level 3,purple tag 2009.
BHS EQUITATION & WELFARE TESTS:The Club encourages its members to take BHS Equitation & Welfare Tests (previously called Grade Tests). These will arranged according to demand. Extra tuition on stable management will be arranged prior to the test. Details of tests and Road Safety tests will be published on the website, Hoofprint magazine or by telephoning the Grade Test Officer.
AWARDS:Improvement Awards are presented within each competing Group annually, the winners having been assessed over the year by the Northwood Riding Club Instructor. There are also awards for contributions towards Club activities, sportsmanship etc., and nominations for these are requested each year prior to our AGM. The awards are presented at the Club's Annual Dinner, which is normally held in February.
COMPETITIONS:Competitions are held regularly throughout the year. A brief description of NRC's internal competitions appears below:
BHS & External Competitions: As a BHS affiliated Riding Club, we are eligible to compete in all BHS Competitions’ and Qualifiers and the London & South East Championships. NRC is also a member of the London Riding Clubs Liaison Committee (LRCLC) which entitles us to compete for the Lucy Oldfield Trophy (Riding Test), London Trophy, and Pinnerwood Quiz.
SOCIAL EVENTS:Annual events are the Club’s Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony at Moor ParkGolf Club in February.also a Race Night. Other social events will include fun rides and outings. Information is displayed in Hoofprint online magazine and on the website. The programme may be subject to change, so please check regularly. If you have any queries, our Social Secretary will be pleased to help.
INFORMATION:The Club's magazine "Hoofprint" is sent free of charge to all Club members quarterly and reports on news, competitions and details of forthcoming events. All members are welcome to contribute and our Editor will be pleased to hear from you.
COMMITTEE:The make-up of the Committee appears in the Club Rules and Constitution and the names of your Committee Members, together with their specific responsibilities are printed in Hoofprint and on the web site. Any suggestions, queries, or grievances can be put to any of them, and the matter will be brought up at the monthly Committee Meeting. All Club members are eligible to stand for the Committee at the AGM, provided they have been proposed and seconded by two other members We carry a wide range of products to suit a variety of budgets and tastes. *****Cancellation Policy Update****
Northwood Riding club Cancellation Policy for Club Events and Training Sessions It has been agreed by the Committee of Northwood Riding club that where an event or training session has been booked and a rider cancels within 48 hours the rider will be expected to pay 50% of the cost of the session and if less than 24 hours the rider will pay the full cost. If a replacement rider is found or the instructor agrees not to make a charge this may be waived but the club reserves the right to enforce these charges where necessary. Applicants for training sessions must provide the organizer with an emergency contact number in case of last minute changes or cancellations e.g. due to bad weather.
